Marston 207 Setup and Recording

Before Class:

Arrive 10 minutes before the start of class

1. Plug in the Projector Cord into the corresponding cord from the Computer's Cart
  • You will see a large cord made of 3 smaller cords, you just need to plug and screw in the correct one into the back of the instructors PC

2. Log into the Computer

3. Open Mozilla Firefox
  • Click on Adobe Connect tab, share screen located in the middle of the window, audio by clicking on the microphone tab on the top of the window, and web cam located on the left of the window.
  • Go to file and click start meeting
  • Minimize window

4. Open Panopto
  • located on the desktop (green)
  • Name recording correctly
  • Click on record
  • Minimize window

5. Turn on projector using control panel on desk
  • If the projector is only showing a blue screen go to Control Panel > Display > Choose the third icon from the list on the right >Detect Device and your done

7. Take out the microphone from the desk and make sure it is working. If not, change the batteries.

8. Wait for professor to show up to see if he needs anything else from you.

During Class:

9. Back in the lab open Panopto and Adobe Connect, both are tabs in Mozilla Firefox
  • Locate correct videos and make sure the Panopto one is being recorded and you can hear and see the Adobe Connect recording
  • Keep watching Adobe Connect to make sure no problems arise

After Class:

Go back to the class room

11. Open Panopto
  • Click on stop recording
  • Click ok to save
  • Minimize window

12. Open Adobe Connect
  • Click on file > end recording
  • Close the window

13. Email the power point file used that day to yourself

Back in the lab:

14. Open Panopto
  • follow link for posting information

15. Open Adobe Connect
  • follow link for posting information

15. Open you email and download powerpoint
  • open and save as a PDF to correct folder in firma
  • In Blackboard, go to your class page > notes > build content > browse computer > firma > your class > that days note


16. Mark class as complete on whiteboard

Note: You can double check that everything is posted correctly and then mark it as complete on the whiteboard :) Now that you've finished, you can find some more work to do!
